Dr. Kerrigan is Director of Wilderness Medicine. He is a board-certified general surgeon and former Instructor of the U. S. military’s Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course. He has practiced in underserved areas around the world and has published research articles on tropical diseases and venomous snake bite. He is a recipient of the American Medical Association’s prestigious Nathan Davis Award for “outstanding contributions to promote the art and science of medicine and the betterment of the public health.”

Daniel served as a missionary in Ecuador for 10 years before coming to Peak 7 as the Wilderness Medicine Coordinator. He majored in Glacier and Mountain Climbing at Norway’s Nordfjord Folkehøgskule and has 16 years of experience climbing and guiding in the Andes mountains. He has provided rescues and pre-hospital care in both the mountains and the Amazon jungle. He served on the inter-agency Committee for the Response to Emergencies and Disasters.

Michael’s love for the outdoors greatly expanded in college where he became involved in the university’s Outdoor Leadership Program. In order to integrate his passion for the outdoors and desire to pursue medicine, he went to Belize to learn wilderness austere medicine and train in confined space, swift water, and high angle rescue. Upon his return to school, he became Coordinator for the university’s Outdoor Leadership Program where he was responsible for training and curriculum development. His goal was to provide students with leadership opportunities, which would allow them to lead effective and safe outdoor adventures. His intention was to not only encourage good outdoor guiding but to also prepare guides to be outdoor ministers while exploring the wonders of God and His creation. Following completion of his B.S. in Biochemistry and minor in Mathematics, Michael went to medical school at Loma Linda University, where he is currently, and hopes to pursue a career in Emergency Pediatric Medicine. Despite medical school, he still finds time to guide and climb frequently.

Leslie teaches our BLS courses. She is a nurse with experience in hospital nursing (intensive care unit, operating room) as well as school nursing. She raised five sons on the mission field and now has five lovely daughters-in-law and 17 grandchildren. Leslie accompanies her husband, Kevin, on medical mission trips where she joins him caring for patients on the wards, in the clinic and in the operating room. She also teaches nursing care to the national staff.

Ryan co-founded Peak 7 Adventures and has served as Executive Director from the outset, actively leading programs and trips each year. He grew up in Ecuador and Kenya throughout most of his younger years. He is a Cum Laude graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. Ryan has worked as an ACA Certified Whitewater Kayak Instructor and Raft Guide Instructor, as well as a climbing and backpacking guide. Ryan’s passions include mountaineering, climbing, backpacking, whitewater kayaking, rafting, mountain biking and traveling. He has expedition experience all over the World. Together with his wife Loran, they pursue their passions to get people involved with God’s creation. Ryan, Loran and their son Dane and daughter Addie live in Spokane, WA
