Warehouse Attendant Information

Dates Needed: April-September
Supervisor: Program Coordinator
Time Commitment: April –June: Minimum of 20 hours a week; July and August work full time every week. Some flexibility in schedule available.

Working under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Warehouse Attendant is responsible for the care and supervision of all gear that goes in and out of warehouse for outdoor activities including whitewater rafting, Ascent, and climbing trips. The incumbent is expected to keep the warehouse organized, keep record of all gear that leaves and comes back to the warehouse. The position may require: being on call at any hour.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Model Christ like behavior including encouragement, teamwork, trust, hope and respect for others and the environment at all times.
  • Adhere to and diligently enforce rigorous safety standards
  • Maintain inventory and protection of equipment and facilities. Instill in each participant a respect for equipment, its care, and proper use.

Minimum education and work experience:

  • Commitment to Jesus Christ, which reflects Christ in every aspect of his/her vocation and personal life.
  • Completed minimum of one year of college.
  • Knowledge and experience in outdoor related skills and understanding of procedures pertinent to outdoor programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse group of youth.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of duties, working conditions, and priorities.

Required qualifications:

  • Valid training in CPR and First Aid

The incumbent must be a person who embodies the following:

  • An understanding of and ability to work with others and an appropriate sense of behavior when working with youth.
  • A good work ethic with sufficient physical and emotional energy to work long hours.
  • A self-starter who creates ideas and follows through without prodding but knows when and how to ask for assistance and counsel.
